Folks! For many years now I have been collecting recordings by my mother, Selah Broderick, in hopes of eventually compiling an album. And finally, there is an album coming! On the 30th of October, Western Vinyl will release my Mom’s first album, Anam. These recordings span from the late 70’s up until the present day and include contributions from myself and my sister, Heather Woods Broderick. The record is a combination of folk songs and music for meditation, featuring my Mom’s stellar flute playing as well as her beautiful guitar and vocals. Here is the first single — the oldest track of the bunch — a traditional tune called ‘Every Bush And Tree’, recorded circa 1979:
